Choose your form type. You have several options, but I recommend a standalone page for most cases.
Step 2: Add data fields
Choose from hundreds of properties in our database. If you’re not sure which property to select or you want to create new data fields, contact the Salesforce administrator (Scott Schaafsma, scotts@uchicago.edu).
Step 3: Choose follow-up options
What would you like to happen after someone submits your form? You can display a thank you message or redirect to another web page. You can also set up notifications for yourself or a team member.
If you want more advanced automation, contact Caleb Butler (cabutler@uchicago.edu) for support.
Step 4: Publish your form
After your data fields and settings are in place, publish your form.
You can share the form as soon as it’s published. HubSpot generates a plain web page, like the picture below. Step 5 shows you how to add other text and include the Harris branding on your forms.
Step 5: Host the form on a landing page
If you want the Harris branding and the ability to include text and images, create a landing page:
We'll do a deep dive into landing page design in another email, but when you build a landing page to host a form, less is more.
Note: If you host your form on a landing page, the follow-up settings are managed in the Thank you section. (You can see it in the bottom left in the image above.) These settings will override the follow-up settings you selected in Step 3.
Step 6: Share your form
Publish the landing page and share the link with your audience!
That's all for today! We'll be back in the new year with more tips.
