HubSpot Tips & Tricks
Have you ever received an email that wouldn't load properly? Maybe the images wouldn't load or someone forwarded an email to you and it looked a little weird.
When we send emails, these issues are often outside of our control. But there is one thing we can do! We can provide a web version of our email.
What is a web version of an email?
A web version displays the full version of your email on a web page. The design and functionality will mirror the version that you built in HubSpot.
Why is a web version important?
It ensures that the full version of your email is viewable to all readers, regardless of their email client, settings, or any other rendering issues.
To highlight two good reasons:
A web version ensures greater accessibility. Some readers may need a web version to activate assistive technology.
It's easy to share a URL. Simply copy and paste, and you can be confident that the recipient will see the right version.
How to provide a web version of your email
First, edit the settings for your email. In HubSpot's email builder:
Navigate to the Settings tab
Scroll to the bottom
Click Plain text and web version
Under Web version, click the on/off icon. When it's turned on, you'll see a checkmark.
Provide a page title
Next, move the "View in browser" link to the bottom of your email.
Navigate to the Edit tab
Find the "View in browser" link at the top right of the email
Click the element and drag it to the bottom of the email
Now you have the option to hide this hyperlink completely because it's also in the footer.
In the email footer, you'll see the link, "View this email online." Our templates add this link automatically when the settings are changed to include a web version.
To hide the "View in browser" link, change the font size to 0 px.
The font size is set to 0 pixels.
Congrats! Now your email is more accessible!
That's all for today! We'll be back next week with more tips from our email checklist.
