A few years ago, we launched our first credential program as a way to train students and young professionals in data analytics and policy analysis without requiring the commitment of a degree program.
We had no idea it would be such a big hit. (Ok, maybe we did.)
After 4 years, the Data and Policy Summer Scholar program has over 500 alumni, and those alumni have gone on to graduate school, moved up in their organizations, and launched new careers.
Recognizing the need for more short-term training—coupled with our faculty’s enthusiasm—we developed a suite of non-degree credential programs:
- Data & Policy Summer Scholar
- Data Analytics Credential
- International Policy Action Lab
- Leading Evidence-Based Decisions
- Monetary Policy & International Finance
- Municipal Finance
- Persuasive Writing Credential
These programs range from 1 to 8 weeks in length, providing short-term options for individuals to build skills, engage directly with UChicago faculty, and connect with other scholars around the world.
